Restoring the Edentulous Mandible

Dr. Arpit Nirkhiwale is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where he serves as the Director of Digital Education in Prosthodontics and as the former Director of the predoctoral prosthodontics clinic. He also maintains his private practice in Minneapolis, Minnesota, specializing in Full Mouth Rehabilitation, Implant Prosthodontics, Dental Photography, and
Digital Dentistry.

Dr. Nirkhiwale is a member of various organizations, including the American College of Prosthodontists, the International Team for Implantology, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the Florida Prosthodontic Association. He is also a member of the American Dental Association and the Joint Commission on National Dental examinations. As the prosthodontics content expert for the Department of Testing Services, ADA & JCNDE, he serves on the test development team for Integrated National Board of Dental Examination (INBDE), Advanced Dental Admissions Test (ADAT) and the Dental Licensure Objective Structured Clinical (DLOSCE) Examinations.

Dr. Nirkhiwale’s research interests include digital dentistry, dental implants, 3D printing and manufacturing, technology-enhanced learning, and AI in dentistry.

This module will address the use of Locator® abutments for a removable prosthesis and the All-on-4® treatment concept for a fixed prosthesis.
